We bought this impressive tray to Dorita Ferrari about two years ago. It is an early Haviland unmarked piece. It is very well done, and the blank bears the characteristic marks of Old Paris porcelain, an incised II. The decoration is a mixture of a good transferred design and hand painted birds and flowers. I have other Haviland plates with the blank that has the angles wrapped to the inside called folded handkerchief edge. I believe it is from around 1880. I posted a picture of the dinner of Saturday night with friends. I used it to serve five pears in syrup, filled with blue cheese and a Russian salad call herring under fur coat, that I tried to look like a big fish.
A feast for the eyes and the stomach!
A beautiful and old tray.
