I've been looking very hard for pieces of Rhoda Wagers work, I'm hoping this is the one. Hi Jewels1900 or Kiwipaul can you verify that it could be her work, I'm keeping my fingers crossed. This is such a beautifully made pendant and the opal ( which I think is a boulder opal) is so pretty, on the back there is Sil which I presume is for silver. It is extremely well made and heavy. I don't think I can say anything else, I'm going to let the photos do the talking

It is pretty! On the back there is an S Sil I'm sure that's sterling silver. I don't know about the maker. Sometimes it feel like you just know who it's made by but just can't figure it out...it can get frustrating. Luckily there are places this with good people!

Hi Jean, I don't know enough about the little stylistic differences between Rhoda and her niece Dorothy, and the other Australian artists who emulated them. The way the silver wire continually loops at the back is interesting and it's a lovely opal. Certainly "School of Rhoda Wager" and another cool piece to add to your (growing) collection.

Hi Jean, nice bit, but again not by either of the Wagers. There are a few ways to tell. Firstly the bale is a commercial style, secondly, the design is too loose - the Wagers set their leaves and ball work much closer together, thirdly the swirly structure on the back is not consistent, the Wagers used to create a very neat geometric structure to set the leaf work on. Finally, it's marked silver - Rhoda marked with Wager, Dorothy usually not at all. I'm not aware that they every used a silver stamp.
