Today I found this lovely item in a shop in Amsterdam, it really caught my attention by the decoration and colors. Underneath this item, there was sort of a black stamp wich I was told to scratch of for more information.
I was told that is was most likely an astray, made or designed by Leen Muller for Gouda Holland, plateel zuid... The shape I was tol, was rare. In the middle of the astray there is some kind of deer to be seen.
Hope to get more information about this beautiful item, like; technique, what animal is in the middle and where it stands for etc.
The mark under Gouda appears to be the signature for Johannes van Leeuwen, according to this site:

The decoration on the front is reminiscent too of one of the marks on the Goudadesign page above!!
Het Hert' - the figure of a prancing deer or hart. Seen mainly on items in the 1930's. This 'Het Hert' mark can also be seen in an early version from about 1910 -15. It looks like the face of a deer with large antlers. Adriaan Jonker Krijnszoon, who was the co-founder of Zuid-Holland, was also the owner of a pottery in Gouda called Het Hert (The Deer). This factory was next to the Zuid-Holland factory. In the 1930's the mark changed to the prancing deer. "
But that may be just an aside. There is a Leen Muller piece here on CW with that transfer mark beneath the PZH Lazarus Gate mark:

It's that transfer mark that is the important one.

In the centre of the circle is a triangle with the letters LJM for "Muller, Leendert Johan"
So if I understand the site correctly, you have a Leen Muller piece (based on the stamp under the writing) with the decoration done by Johannes van Leeuwen. The number at the top looks like 2337 but I could be wrong.
The rest of the writing (Gouda Kon Plazuid Holland) seems to line up with a genuine piece.

By the way, does it say 'Gouda / Icon Plazuid / Holland' ?
It's Kon. instead of Icon - it's an abbreviation for the word I won't try to spell. I think it signified the royal designation they received in 1930.

This dish is indeed a model designed by my grandfather Leen Muller.The decorname with antelope is "Flua" and has nothing to do with "The Hert".This dish was made around 1929.Dish 2337 can be seen in the cataloque of the monograph
"Leen Muller en de Plateelbakkerij Zuid-Holland (1898-1936)"coming on the market jan.2016,Publisher Primavera-Pers Leiden Netherlands.

Frits, thank you also very much for this answer! So it is a dish and not an ashtray I understand? Last week I was at an auction and there I saw another piece of your grandfather with the same decor! It was marked underneath with "Flua" and and I thought about what it could mean... Unfortunately I didn't get the change to buy it. It was sort of a cup with something else with it. Looking forward buying the cataloque! ;)

The shape of the bowl is amazing! The decoration is interesting .... but it is the design of the object itself that is ever so more interesting to my eye!
A pentangle or 'five pointed star' or 'de vijfstralige ster' within a pentagram and underneath the five towers .... like a castle (a pentagrammic prism'.
Those triangles between the feet. Quite an achievement in itself! I'd love to see a shot 'side on' sitting on a surface !!!
He was playing with the 'golden ratio' or 'de gulden snede' for sure!
From what Fritz says it is in the catalogue so my guess is that it would be a production piece ... unique pieces are usually marked that way, I'm going to order the book! The info will be within.
The fact that you saw the 'sort of cup' with the 'Flua' mark is interesting.
Did it have a star shape too?
About the only language I can find 'flua' is Esperanto. Maybe 'Flua' is related to 'Vloeiend', suggesting a smooth movement?
