Hello,
I recently picked up a large landscape oil on canvas painting signed, G. Whitman. The actual canvas measures 24x48. On the back of the canvas the numbers 06134964 are etched/scratched on the wood center brace. It is an absolutely stunning painting featuring a lot of blue, brown whites of a winter scene of snow covered trees, a dark colored river in the forefront with a bright orange sky in the background. I am trying to confirm its authenticity and current market value. Would you be able to assist me in authenticating this painting? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
