Not all 1960s Japanese glass is stridently coloured.
This vase from Iwatsu Art Glass is a lovely mix of blue and white.
Thickly cased in clear, nicely twisted base, and typical Iwatsu rounded lip.
Height: 20cm (8in)
An alien blue planet :)
Love, love the color, and with Label.....that is a + +
Beautiful.....with a light hearted insouciance about it!
Another little beauty!! Nice colors in this one.
Yes! Mike it is like a planet. Thanks.
It is beautiful I agree Rose. Glad this one had a label, it's not like most of my Iwatsu.
Oooh - light hearted insouciance Peggy!! Now we're stating things!!
Thanks Scott. I like the blues too......in glass......
Love the form... love the colors... love the twist... LOVE IT!
Thanks Rick. This one works well.
Oh my stars, isn't this the most beautiful glass, the most beautiful, wow ...
YOU HAVE SO MANY GREAT PIECES! LOVE THIS ONE, TOO, RACER. :)
I'll be going back to my hometown, San Jose, California, in April, to visit my mother, who'll be 90 this November. I haven't been back home in some years now, but every time I go home to my mother's I bring back with something from her Japanese gift shop inventory that's filled up her garage since she retired in the late '80's. Whatever I come back with, I'll post and share with all of you.
Thanks Blade and I would love to see any of your Japanese pieces.
