I've had this butter knife in my silverware drawer for over twenty years. It is a member of my mix-and-match daily use silverware. It is stamped Peppas & Alex Co Stainless Steel. Nearest thing Google can find is a listing in a hospital book supply company. Peppas & Alex Co., Inc. Paco Bldg. Cleveland OH. This piece came to me from an estate sale (I think) so where it came from before I got it is anyone's guess. I just happened to look at it and wondered more about it. It's a sturdy little fella, and a whole set would be kind of cool to have. Now I'm curious what the forks and spoons look like. Sure, it's a bit utilitarian looking, but I like stuff that works, that lasts, and isn't too fancy.
The hospital supply book lists the company under kitchen utensils, so it is obvious that is a lead of sorts. I'd sure like to know more about this guy. I'll be checking yard sales and places like that more often, just to see if I can find him some relatives. :)
If i could find more, that would make me a very happy cook.
There are a number of sites that research and attempt to locate replacement silverware and china. They do it for free in hopes to either make a sale or perhaps a buy. I have used a couple of them and it took about a week each time to get a reply but I was satisfied in the end result. Except one Paye & Baker item I have been researching for over 20 years. I have the only one known. They could verify it but not find me another to go with it.
Could you recommend one or two, to save me some time? I'd appreciate it.
