A lovely Amber Glass vase by Fritz Heckert. Circa 1900. Stands 8.5" tall. 4" across the base. 6.5" across widest width. Intact enameling of flowers and vines in gold, green, red, blue and white. Marked on the base F.H. 4961. No mark as to artist. I don't have access to a Heckert pattern book, so if any of my glass friends knows the pattern number for this, I'd appreciate your help.

The decoration was designed by Adolf Heyden in 1900. There is no indication as to who designed the glass form. However it is highly likely that the glass form was designed by Otto Thamm, who was Heckert’s son-in-law and later, Director of the Heckert Kunstglas Industrie from 1900 to 1906. There are at least two examples in the Glasmuseum Passau utilizing two different glass forms (and different from your glass form), one in Bronzecypern, and one in Goldcypern. Your piece appears to be Goldcypern.

To reiterate from a comment that I posted elsewhere regarding Adolf Heyden, which applies here also; Heyden, an architect from Berlin, was employed by Heckert from 1875 to 1902.
