1950-60s Red brick building block set. Made in Canada by Peter-Austin Manufacturing Company. This company made many types of games for the Canadian market. This set is 99.9 perent complete. Actually counted all the bricks, roll of roof material (still uncut, thats the green roll in the 3rd pic), windows, doors, etc. Only short 3 blocks. Not bad for a 50 to 60 years old toy. Was going to build something today with it, but after separating all the joined blocks, organizing and counting them. I was tired and decided to put them all back in the tube. Instruction book has many building plans, etc. These sets aren't rare, and were very popular. Rare to have lid for tube, uncut roofing sheet and instructions. I had my fun with it, so back to the shelf it goes.
Looks like better quality than Lego like a few other sets but Lego seems to be the last one standing.
@ fortapache. Looks more authentic as a brick building than Lego. I haven't done the 'step on a piece in the dark' test. I know from years of having kids, the Legos are painful. On that basis sta-lox should be better. I just enjoy the packaging graphics mostly on these toys with no wheels. But wheels always win with me, and vintage Lego had good blocks with wheels. New Lego is all theme accessories and not much create your own pcs.
Hi is it still available?
