This belonged to a friend who died & it's just been left in our garage. It gives a name & says Solingen on the large blade, RIOHARTZ & what appears to be a stylized whale.
Take note of the all the work I did cleaning it up. What is the rectangular slot in the blade next to the screwdriver for?
Nevada, I don't need it & I'm sure his ex doesn't, so if you want me to mail it to you next time I come to the States, I will. Oh! how do I bring it thru security? Let me think about it.

You call it a camping tool. That is what I do when shipping blades.

Very cool knife!! I have a Marlboro travel kit that's made of horse hide. I've had it for 35 years and it's still in good condition. They evidently used fairly decent brand names for their giveaways.

Hey, cool knife! Sorry, though, about how it came into your possession. I truly appreciate your kindness in offering me the knife, but I would feel mean, rotten and selfish taking something that has such deep meaning to you. Only someone like yourself, your friend's buddy, can honestly appreciate this knife. Despite how much I would love to have this knife, you should be the one to keep it, in memory of your friend.

I believe that slot in the small blade next to the screwdriver has two purposes: 1) to thread twine through it to use as a sewing needle to mend heavy clothing or equipment, such as a torn jacket or a ripped tent, for example; and 2) to securely tie a fishing line. With the blade and all of the other tools closed, it can be used as a "fishing pole".

Absolutely no pain in my case. (Dr. Kielar). The pain is in the other end due to restrictions for a few days. Piece of cake & only takes about 15-20 mins. "I'll take 2 cat. ops. with a side order of fries".

We traveled some of the same trails. I just made more money. Also spent it faster. LOL ! Remember an oldie about "Cowboy in the Jungle". We were friends back in Jamaica. "Oh, the stories we could tell".
