i'm not sure why, but i can't load any photos of the bottom from directly above. it's just not loading them?? i found this at Urban Ore in berkeley today along w/ some other goodies. It says 'Austria' in a beautiful monogram/script and there's a VK and a 3000/32 and 8 ins [or something like that].

thank you Kevin! i thought that you would recognize it. i looked at a bunch of them which had a much simpler imprint of Austria on the bottom. this one has a very highly stylized mark, which i like alot. maybe just an early version of it? looks to be a circa 1920 or earlier mark.

Sorry about the typo .... Mürztal Keramik.

The VK is short for Volkskeramik.

    6. vetraio50 vetraio50, 9 years ago
It's bound to be an earlier mark. It's a CACHEPOT or ÜBERTOPF.

      I've seen a reference to:
Volkskeramik Mürzzuschlag F. Birnstigl und Comp.
      (1911-1975)

The factory was in the town of Mürzzuschlag.
