I found this at Goodwill today for $3.99! i didn't think much of it till i got home, cleaned it up and had a good look. it's very beautiful! it has very uniform thickness and it's just a very nice piece. i can't find a signature on it, but it really doesn't look at all like the Chinese glass i've seen so much of lately. this vase has kind of an opalescent sheen in the glass that i don't think i've ever seen before. it's kind of subtle though. what do you think?
It's not modern or Chinese, that's for sure.
A beautiful colour and reminds me of the piece Rose posted the other day.
It could be Murano!
thank you racer. i think it is Murano. i've seen the exact same color on a bunch of 1950s Murano pieces.
It's a beauty!! And for $3.99 even better!!
You did well - it's lovely!
thank you jscotto and Efes!
can anyone tell me where pontils were ground down like this one? the whole bottom is ground finely and there is a concave, ground pontil in the center - relatively deep.
I'm looking over some of y'all's older posts, since I'm still kinda new here. LOVE THIS! :)
I am thinking that your Vase is From Poland.....

thank you NevadaBlades and antiquerose!! i can see why you think that antiquerose, but the one on your link just doesn't have the subtle color/texture and graceful form that mine does. mine has very consistently thin walls and a spontaneity that just isn't there in the polish one. i think mine is either Murano or a very, very good Chinese one.
mine kind of reminds me of this one which is currently in England. unknown origin, but the color is pretty darn close!
