This looks a little bit like Persian Isnik [sp?] pottery, but the construction looks american. it's a beautiful drawing of a pigeon amongst flowers - maybe even a little bit of a Pennsylvania Dutch look to it? i bet i would find a signature if i tore off the backing. should i do it? i can always glue it back afterwards... but then again, who cares? it's a nice tile.
That's really pretty. A nice depiction of a wood pigeon. Iznik Cini is Turkish. The colors are wrong for that sort of pottery/ceramic design. Iznik Cini pottery uses mainly blue, green, red, yellow and black colors/shades on white. I lived in Turkey and absolutely LOVE their pottery!

Did you peel off the felt completely?
those are beautiful Efes! i have a few pieces too and really like them. i was thinking along the lines of this one: http://ancientpoint.com/inf/21779-antique_iznik_pottery_kutahya_pottery_tile__ottoman_turkey.html
no, it's not peeling well, so i just left it on.

wow! i went exploring for Birds in Mesopotamia / Persia and got amazing results! Persian bird pottery influenced the entire world even in ancient times. the mysterious 'grabber birds' in Mexican pottery of the 1930s comes from the mexican potters being influenced by Zsolnay bird pottery which was influenced by Persian pottery, and so on and so on.... i put together a pinterest board to illustrate this a little: https://www.pinterest.com/ho2cultcha/birds-in-persian-ceramics-and-tiles-and-those-infl/
I have seen similar pieces in Israel, but this one has no pomegranates so I am not sure
this is a common theme across the middle east. the flowers are pomegranates. i believe that this is a Persian tile, although i'm not sure where it was made.
