These came out of a local thrift shop for $3.00 total. I sent an email off earlier this year to Airfix and never heard back. I guess I will try again, since they are advertising their January 2016 magazine issue. In the meanwhile, I am interested in opinions on these models.
The other one is a Nitto Kagaku model. That company ceased production in 1990.
Thanks
Bonnie
Good buy. I'm not into 1/72 scale but a lot of builders are. A quick search of "Completed listing" on ebay will give you values.
What info are you trying to get from Airfix?
AzTom - The sides of the boxes says "Airfix Productions Limited 1976" so I am assuming that the models are from 1976. Just wanted verification.
What an incredible buy!! fortapache will love these for sure!!!
What a fun group of models. My HO/OO Airfix soldiers would love them. Not exactly sure what scale they were. They tend to be a bit larger than HO which is 1/87th scale.
@fortapache - Scale models are not my thing, but saw these in my local thrift shop and bought the lot for $3.00. Items from the 1960s and 1970s hold an interest for me.
Someone will like them! :-)
From what I read on the net, these models tend to run somewhere between 1/76 and 1/87.
I see. Based on the $2.45 price tag, I would guess 70's
You are correct about the ho/00 .... 1/87/1/76. In reality it is one or the other
AzTom - bingo! The printing on the other side of the Airfix boxes gives the date of 1976. That's the side I didn't photograph,. :-)
When i loved this i thought it was fortappache's wares lol. Im impressed. Have an awesome Xmas Efesgirl.
