I was hoping I could find a little more I information out on this painting. It is signed but I am unable to make out the signature. This painting dose appear to be from the 18th-19th century.

i was just reading about Rembrandt and the lack of forgers of his work. this painting shows why - it was next to impossible to copy his technique. you can see how the painter of this painting attempted to attain the pearly chiarascuro effect his paintings had, but it came out kind of lumpy/cloudy instead of crisp. it does look like an 18th century copy, but looks can be deceiving in the world of high-value paintings. it might be by a student or a follower of Rembrandt, in which case it could still be valuable.
