Durand "King Tut" vase, shape #1713, unsigned. Dark blue and silver blue. 7"h, 3 1/8"top, 3 1/4"base. A beautiful example of Durand King Tut. I live in New Jersey, about an hour away from where Victor Durand Jr, and his father had set up the Vineland Flint Glass Works in 1897. In 1924, after The Quezal Art Glass and Decorating Co. went out of business, Durand Jr. started creating art glass after persuading Martin Bach Jr., Emil Larson and other former workers of Quezal to join him. From 1924 to Victor Durand Jr.'s death in 1931, Durand made some of the finest art glass in the world.
