This is the last piece of opal jewellery in a group we acquired recently, all of which came from the same source.
Once again it is very bright crystal opal from Coober Pedy in South Australia, this time in a handmade bridge setting, along with four little single cut diamonds. Apparently this ring was custom made in the 1960's using more of the opal that came down through one family from the 1930's.
This ring is big, designed to really show off those opals. The central opal is 9 x 7mm, and the smaller opals on the ends are 3.5mm diameter, so the setting takes up a lot of real estate on your finger, with the top about 20 x 8mm.
I've never seen a bigger London Bridge opal ring, and I've never seen one with opal this bright, so I think it's a fair call to say this one is exceptional.
Lovely ring Paul, the colours in the opals are amazing.
Just MAGIC .... FIERY OPAL !!!!!
Incredible!
I don't love only the magic colors but also that many people have changed the color of the opal with altered mood or health.
