Found this little guy at a house sale recently. He is cute but I cant find any info about him or any others that look like him, so I dont know where it is from, how old... There are six strings connected to the paddle, he is wearing a cute little hat and his clothes look machine sewn and glued. I am not sure if it is a monkey or a man though! He is a little less than 8 inches head to toe, has a hard body and no real legs (just material attached to shoes) his head, hands and feet are painted clay/pottery or something.

HI - he is the Monkey King. Look up Chinese Monkey King. Popular 'fairy tale' or myth in China! It is also a character in Chinese Opera. Nice example you have there!
