It's an oddball and hard to know what year it was produced, it's even stumped the experts at the national association of clock and watch collectors.
Here's what we know:
This clock was possibly made sometime between 1926? and 1939? It was made by the Gebrueder Kuner business of Germany founded after WWI. It's a one day movement, cuckoo and quail and is about 34 inches long, very big clock. Can't find anything online that's similar in size and features.
The oldest brother Benedikt took the company over in 1937 and was charged with war crimes for the killing of American paratroopers taken as POW's in 44. He committed suicide in his cell before he could be sentenced. This dude was not the type who found himself in a bad spot, he was a power freak. As the mayor of his town, he had the local vicar jailed and lord knows what else when he had overheard the man made a comment that it was too bad Hitler wasn't in the room at an assassination attempt that failed.
Benedikt was an original of the NAZI's and a member of the social workers group that preceded it.
I'd like to know if this clock was made prior to Benedikt taking sole ownership of the company in 1937. I'd prefer to have this clock knowing it was made by the 'good brother'.
Anyone have any idea when this clock was made?
