I am trying to find out who the creator is of this statue. It is signed on the bottom, the name is carved in the material. This statue appears to be made of a heavy acrylic material. It appears to be hand carved throughout. Any tips/help with who could be the artist, I would greatly appreciate it, thank you.

Your very well constructed figure is made from bone laminate cemented to carved wooden forms. The bone has been fired in a kiln, carved to shape, polished, fitted to the carved form and then detail engraved and colored. A tremendous amount of work went into the making of this unusual piece. Minimal patina suggests that it is not yet antique. Cheers, Val

I wish I had a translation of the signature on the bottom, I'm pretty sure it's Japanese and not Chinese.

AB I don't read Japanese but checked my resources and I think this is Chinese.
The closest I can find are Chinese characters that translate this to Big City.
Possibly wrong - do you have some local Chinese speakers who could check it for you?

I would say it is Chinese. The style of clothes that the figure is wearing is Chinese.
