Four years ago I placed the story of these antique earrings on CW and because it was a special story that's why I show again. Two images are of a painting (which hangs on the wall near us) of my great-grandmother (1858-1937). The fairly well-known painter who was living next to her drink quite a lot of alcohol. When he was once at her on a visit he said that he had no good model to paint. My great-grandmother who wanted to get him off the booze then proposed to model. So this painting originated and was signed in 1931. My great-grandmother has, at that time, the age of 73 years. Besides the legacy of this painting I have inherited the brooch, which she wears on this painting. It was originally a brooch but later changed into earrings, that explain why one is slightly larger than the other. Partly by inheriting these cute earrings and the associated history this is one of the sources for my love of antique. jewelry.
Its beauthifull.

Lovely that you have the story, painting and jewelry together. I wonder what became of the artist?
Baylou thanks for love and unfortunately I do not know how it went further with the painter. Only that he has become quite famous in my area and made quite a few paintings. And later his daughter, also with much artistic talent has become a well-known local photographer.
