1999 d bronze colored penny.

This 1999 d bronze colored penny weight is 2.5 grams. I found it in my pocket change a few years ago. I kept it. I did a few searches during past 2 years finding nothing until recently I gave it another shot. After one click I found info matching its Bronze Color and its texture. Those other rare coins not only look like mine with different dates, but have very high values. I hope to get your opinions to help me figure my next step. Is there a possibility for a fake making its way to my pocket?
