I have to take some time to check the marks on this locket. I believe, however, that it might be English. It's a well made, well kept piece.

Where are the hallmarks?
Good question, Efesgirl. I was hoping that they could be seen in the pictures, but I am wrong. The marks are right in the middle of the locket on the outside. There are two letters and three sybols. I'll go and check in a minute:)
Z J, something I cannot figure out, lion, and letter c. That's what it looks like:)
ZJ - silversmith, perhaps Samuel Jacob
an anchor, perhaps?
lion passant means it was assayed in Birmingham
letter C is the date letter
