Just an old Toboggan that I use as a Christmas Decoration. This is the scene at my back door that welcomes my guests during the festive season.
These old sleds turn up everywhere in my area, and cost almoost nothing. I usually get them with the intention of refinishing them to their former glory, then decide to let them be with the character they have earned over the years.
CW must be from the south, as there is no Toboggan option under sporting goods. Winter was long and cold and there was no internet. If we weren't playing hockey, we would be found ripping down the snow covered hills all day.
Fn awesome Oatco :)
Thank you for the comment Caperkid. Creating a bit of winter nostalgia helps make winter more cheerful, and easier to take until classic car season again.

I think it's a sled. A Toboggan would not have rails. I have my antique toy snow shovels out on display, lol
Yep, you are right AZTom. Might even be a Rail Sled. I just go with toboggan these days because if you say sled, everyone around me thinks snowmobile. Somehow snowmobiles became Ski-doos, because Bombardier had so many that it is like vacuums being called hoovers in England, even have hoovering the floor. Now snowmobiles are sleds, and toboggans are probably a word that rarely gets used by kids today. I think Toboggan is now called shelf, seeing how I see quite a few cut and made into shelves. Geez, that was a long statement/ rant. lol. vintage shovels would make a nice display. I have a rusty 1967 Sno-Shark snow-blower that I would use as a display, but the wife says no. :)
Thank you Kurt. Thank for the Christmas cheer and taking an interest in my postings, Have a Great Christmas and prosperous New Year.
Yes, sled vs. toboggan. Sledding on streets, the ability to steer (somewhat..) often came-in handy! Toboggans periodically appeared on wide-open park hills. Could hold many riders, which was fun. Don't see many of either in the South. Great memories.
Thank you for the kind comment vwgto. I will trade snow and sleds for palm trees and my MG any day. Getting to old and lazy to walk back up the hill.
