My one and only sewing machine, thought was just to cool not to buy for the $40 they wanted at the thrift shop. It didn't work when I got it, but after some serious elbow grease and a can of penetrating oil it spins like a brand new machine now
$40?!!!! wow.... (*turning green with envy)
Better than the hundreds and thousands of Singers.
Thanks AnnaB and GeodeJem!
Anna, if you had seen this when I bought it you may have skipped it. It was covered in years and years of nicotine, But honestly I think the nicotine preserved the paint especially the gold. Took forever to get it cleaned up, but it's a pretty sharp display piece now. Merry Christmas to All!
How awesome is this??? Great thing that you were able to fix it too. I've never seen one of these before, thanks for sharing.
Dave, that's exactly how i like to obtaint my stuff...this way you get a great deal on it and can have fun fixing it :-)
I have an old Singer which came at a high price tag almost mint, but if i don't work on something, i don't have as much connection to it.
Thanks shareurpassion!
Yup Anna, I love digging, and buying old stuff and tinkering, You definitely get a connection after fixing/repairing something. My 30+ years as a auto mechanic, and thousands and thousands of tools still come in handy sometimes.
:)
I bet there is still a few tools that you think you need, and you buy or make them yourself to work on your projects, and sometimes you create projects to get more tools, yes? ;-)
Lol
Of course AnnaB, men can never have enough toys!
