Notice anything off on this Patented Hemingray insulator?
99.5% of the PATENTED Hemingray insulators you'll see also say, "MAY 2nd 1893" on them.
This one lacks that.
What was patented on May 2, 1893? Certainly not the hundreds of styles you'll see saying that.
What was patented was what is clearly seen in the last pic: "Drip points."
They continued embossing the patent into into the 1960s, I'm told. This particular insulator style was made into the 1940s and was for use on rural telephone lines.
It's a little less common missing the May 2nd info.
