This beautiful paperweight was given to me by a wonderful man toward the end of his life. He was such a kind soul and he had such a big heart. He knew that I would always see the beauty in his collection where others might not, so he gave me some of his favorite pieces. Looking at them in my cabinet, lit up under the lights, it's like he's always with us. I would appreciate any information on this particular piece that you may possess. I was told that it is "one of one", but part of a larger collection of one of a kind paperweights, and with no paperwork or background beyond that I have no history on this item beyond that.

Joe St. who? We can't always read marks. It would help if you could say what the mark is.

Oops - never mind! I see the title of your post.

Well that's definitely an unusual color for a St. Clair rose and may be one of the only ones in that color. Joe made several roses in a variety of colors, most common being a ruby colored rose. Even rarer are the roses by Maude and Bob St. Clair, most likely made by Charles Gibson though. Joe had a couple different style of crimps he used to make the roses, this one appears to be a 20 petal rose (assuming there are 4 in the center that do not show in your picture. The 20 petal I believe to be a bit harder to find. I'd be interested to see what other treasures he left you!

There are 20 petals. Four are very small and deep inside the Rose. I know nothing of St. Clair glass at all, so I was very curious the significance of this piece. Thanks for the info!
