Some things are just too hard to resist so my eldest son just had to get up in the half track and test out the handles of the 50 cal himself. Of course he quickly requested the addition of a WWII helmet to complete the fun.
This still is a lot of fun and brings back a lot of memories of growing up during the war when little about military life seemed fun. I'm so grateful for Freedom and Peace in America which is ours because so many young heros gave their lives to grant us this blessing. God Bless America and Merry Christmas to all. I see today that the City of Bethlehem has now outlawed signs saying Merry Christmas. What a sad predjucidal world we find in many parts .
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year there too. God Bless North America in these troubled times.
~ My Dad ( + RIP + ) was with the Royal Canadian Air Force ( RCAF ) for WWII, so I acknowledge your thoughts at this time. Thank You
ooooh....and P.S. - What is happening to this world? Sad, Sad time -- so I will say it again while I still can " MERRY CHRISTMAS "
Antiquerose,
Thank you very much and your father for his service for freedom. I could really go on about the obvious cancer causing the worlds wars but will try and contain myself due to the Christmas time of year. Have a wonderful Christmas and remember the reason for the Season.
Antiquerose,
My Father in laws 1st Cousin joined the RAF at 17 because he was refused in the States and we weren't in the war yet. Lied about his age I think. He later changed to the USAF and became quite the war hero and General. His P-51 Fighter is at Hill AFB in Ogden Ut on display with 18 kills on it. Gen Chesley Peterson. They made great men out of boys in those days. Your dad was undoubtedly one of them & I salute him for his service.

Egeerley,
Thx for the love it. We think it's awesome & have been looking for a WWII Tank to go with it, but it has eluded us so far. We really want a Stuart or some small tank as they are so heavy to haul if we find a big Sherman or similar. Happy New Year
Blunderbuss2,
I still can't believe u have not made a comment about this posting being called Guns and Helmets as compared to Guns and Roses? Play on words I figured you'd catch instantly and u slept right through it?
Trsparks,
I can't believe that more people don't love this posting as Half Tracks are pretty rare and finding one with the Porcelain signs in the background is very unique. We should have lots of "loves" as the machine represents Freedom from Nazi oppression as well as being an awesome old relic from the 40s.
