This sensational brooch was fashioned by Lawrence Vrba, former head designer for Miriam Haskell in the 1960's and 70's. Larry's designs are opulent, fairly massive in size and all hand made from vintage rhinestones and beads and sculpted glass. He has been designing jewelry for about forty years and has created fabulous pieces for the Broadway stage as well as for boutiques and balls, such as the Shreveport, Louisiana Mardi Gras Ball held in 2005, when he designed the King and Queen crowns and scepters. His vases are particularly in demand and are truly works of art. This favorite of mine is just such an example.
What a lovely piece! Thanks for submitting the photo and info.
