Vintage Art Glass lamps

This is a very unusual piece of work. I really don't know if I should call it art or a lamp. I really would like to know if it were designed by a designer and perhaps it's age. Could anyone tell me anything about it? It measures approximately 42 inches tall 9 inches on every side and approximately 60 - 80 pounds , pure glass wired to a metal frame.
