I got some prints, drawings, and paintings at an estate auction of an elderly German couple a while back. I'm remodeling the house and was going to put this painting in one of the bedrooms. Just trying to figure out what I have.
It looks to be a painting on canvas of Emmit Kelly. At least I'm guessing it's of Mr. Kelly. It looks to be done in watercolor. Please correct me if you think otherwise. The canvas measures approximately 19 1/2 x 21 1/4. As near as I can read it the artist was either Wm. Mack or Wm. Track. I found a site called artistssignatures and neither name is listed there. I looked up the company who done the framing to see if they might have some record of it but they closed in May of 2013.
Any information you folks can throw my way on who this artist is will be a big help!

Hi,
If you want a giclee print of Emmet Kelly, which will give you an 'authentic' print, then the artists name is Rusty Rust.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donald_L._Rust
The artist painted over 15,000 paintings, not only of Emmet Kelly. Here some of the Emmet Kelly paintings by 'Rusty Rust:

No offence but your painting doesn't have a patch on the real artists work. Also, I don't think you can paint a water colour on canvas. So, you can pick up a Rusty Rust print for about $36.00 - more expensive than yours, but wouldn't you want the real thing instead of trying to find Mr. Track on the internet? Rusty Rust is also represented on eBay, and Etsy.
To Gillian: As I stated above, I'm just curious who this artist might be. I also stated I'm remodeling my house and I'm planning on putting it in one of the bedrooms. I just want to make sure I'm not going to be hanging something worth anything just so it can be used as a dart board.
No offense taken, but I always thought art was in the eye of the beholder. As they say, one man's trash is another man's treasure.
I don't like clowns, real or painted. And while Rusty Rust is a real artist with a really large volume of work, and as far as I've seen I would throw darts at his work ;))
