A unique and beautiful... Four panel silk screen Byobu. With an unidentified artist mark.
The panels display a beautiful classic Japanese flowering cherry ( also known as the Yoshino cherry) blossoming in spring, with three waxwing birds blissfully enjoying the serenity and tranquility of springtime.
The screen is handmade of silk and is hand painted. It stands 4ft tall and is 71 inches (1 inch shy of 6 ft) in width. It is framed in an unknown wood and has decorative gold leaf ornamental trim. The back is covered with washi Japanese paper and has paper hinges.
Thanks for the love Newfld :)
This is one of my favorite pieces.
Sadly it was damaged just last week. I have no idea if it can be repaired.
