Hello Fellow Collectors. One last post for today. If we could add more photos, I'd included the boxing, lol. But anyways. Mickey Mouse came into being in 1928. In 1948 Disney and Ingersoll got together and produced a Birthday Series of watches. There were 10 different characters in the series. Those watches were so successful Ingersoll continued production in 1949 also, but the Characters were enlarged and protruded outside the inner ring on dial, also in 1949 they produced a "Luminous" dial variant that would glow in the dark. Here's all three of the Mickey variants. As "Time" allows, I'll post the other 9 characters in the series.
Thanks for looking,
Kerry

Were those luminous watches dangerous as they later proved for the girls painting the dials ?
Lucas, if you were to ingest the paint from dial, I suppose they would be.

Kerry. The reason I asked, was that I wore a "radium" dial watch from maybe 9-13 yrs. old. I noticed in my 20's, that there was a small (approx. 5 m/m) brown spot on my wrist exactly behind where I wore the watch. I never gave it any thought until I read about the fate of those girls in the factory. Makes no diff., but just curious? Of course that would be "covered-up".
It would make you wonder....you can bet if there were any danger, it was covered up....quickly
Yeah, they didn't make watch backs out of lead !
Lucas, and if they did, we'd all have lead poisoning now...lol
Maybe we are Kerry ! LOL!
