    This is an army green metal oil can with a tiny screw on lid. It came In the door of my antiques Brunswick sewing machine. I use it to oil the machine, but have often wondered what its original use was, because it really looks like an army cantine. perhaps it was used to oil guns or tanks in world-war ll. I do have a vivid imagination.

      They do look similar, but how many diff. designs can you have for an oil can. I believe this issued with the 1911 Colt .45 or other guns. Seen them in gun shows.
