Great wings. Looks like your grandfather was a Navigator in the Army Air Corps during WW2.

Fantastic that these have stayed in the family. It is unusual to find a sweetheart bracelet paired up with his bracelet.

Are you familiar with his service-- many of us would enjoy seeing other souvenirs of his service.

      Thanks for sharing.

I'm in the process of researching what I've found so far.

Unfortunately I don't remember much of his stories. I was a bit too young to appreciate them. And now he's 97 and a bit to old to tell me about them.

I do have some pretty amazing souvenirs of his service time.

I'm actually trying to figure out how to post my favorite one.

He took a Currency bill from wherever he was stationed and had some of the other Air men sign it. It pretty incredible. It's also very long.

Thanks for the comment. It's nice to see that people still enjoy and care.

The signed bills are known as a "short snorter" and were popular among WW2 service men. I have seen them many times in WW2 groupings. Here is a link about them:

Thank you so much for sharing that link !

I absolutely enjoyed looking at all those "short snorters".

I did see that on one of my Grandfather's noat's but I just thought it was his nickname or something...lol

Here is some more information from the National Archives that may be of interest:

Based on your grandfather's wings and later service number (with an "O"), he went on to be commissioned.

Thank you for your time and effort. I'm truly appreciate it.

I've found some interesting information myself.

I'm just not exactly sure if I should post it or not.

I really want to share though
