I just bought this vase and I don't really know anything about it. But I thought it was really cool and I wanted to see if the brand has any other vases out there. The only thing I have found out about the vase is that it is the product of a Japanese company. If any oen could lead me in that direction I would greatly appreciate it.

It's difficult for me to tell but is this made from glass?

I need to know as there are a number of Toyo companies: one a glass producer, the other a ceramic maker and wholesaler.

I do not believe that it is made from glass. The top around where the opening is has a few small chips in it that reveal a light grey color that looks porous like clay. And then I shined a light inside the vase to look at it, the inner color was white. It also doesn't make the typical sound that glass makes when you tap your fingers on it.

      Thanks Damian.

I believe that this is a ceramic piece from Toyo (Tokyo) who was an importer/exporter from early 20thC until late 20thC.
The pieces I have seen from them are well made and often very beautifully designed. Their marked pieces range from Imari like ceramics to Satsuma to rustic stonewear and quite a lot of it was exported to the US.
This looks 80s to me and made for the Western market, not for Japan.
As you can see it was originally a pricey piece.
If you check Ebay you will see lots of Toyo labelled ceramics, and some of it retains good value.
