    size about 1" clip on earrings, were given to me by my Great Grandmother was told they are Ivory but not sure have never had them appraised.

      Looks like Mother-Of-Pearl to me. Ivory does not have a sheen to it.

      Thank you I always thought that that was probably just a story handed down and I don't know much about jewelry. And the do have a kinda sheen to them. Pretty much vtg costume jewelry.

      They are pretty, though! I can't wear earrings made from non-precious metals, I get a rash....

      I would take them to jeweler and ask what it is. Bone and horn were carved and sold as ivory also it could be Bakelite, the sheen may be caused by the light of the camera flash. I don't think it's mother of pearl and jeweler a will usually look at them for u. Good luck and happy new year

      Simple test: mother of pearl
      feels gritty if you rub it gently on the edge of your tooth!
