This is an amazing Antique Collection of a Cigar Label Salesman Samples Created by Julius Bien in 1911. Just think of how many people have seen these. I have not found out a lot about them on the web but the quality and penmanship is amazing and I never cease to be amazed at the quality of the art work. These samples were shown to cigar shops and they would choose which one they wanted to have on their boxes.
would love to see more of these great graphics!
Hunter I do not think O have a camera good enough to capture the beauty of these labels
That's too bad - though your photos seem pretty clear to me (especially compared to many users on CW).... ;)
Stunning ! wow . Maybe you could have someone take photo's for you but post #2 is very clear so looks like you did a super job .
these are very beautiful and I do agree with manikins comment!!
A collector of Walt Whitman cigar.... by any chance does your collection have any Whitman items.... thanks for sharing. ...
SUPERB! I'd KILL for that booklet! I was just telling someone the other day - I gave away a book of Linoleum patterns to an old boss I had at a property management company. It was from the 1930's and had color photos.
These sample books are so rare! This one looks brand new!
