We all know there are modern reproductions or remakes of vintage pieces.....made for people who want the "Retro" look without having to find or maintain an original. These pieces are label as Collector's Edition and or Limited Edition pieces. We've all seen these and several are very cool.....but normally we just nod, smile and go on our way. But every now and then.....there's that OMG, I've got to snatch that. In my opinion, This is just that.
First let me do a little explaining...... This series of Roy Rogers watch is a remake of the 1960's Bradley Roy Rogers, Produced by Fossil in 1993 and limited production to 10,000 pieces. So what's the big deal you say? This one is #00000/10,000 which means...this little watch was the first one produced, needed approval from the "Powers that be", before production could commence. We long story short....a must have for me, lol.
Thanks for looking
Kerry
Thank You Caperkid, always very appreciated!!
I was poised over "LIKE" until I read the details. How did you scarf this ? Well, I'm impressed !!
Lucas, I was the same way when I stumbled across it, thought......It's okay, but one of those New thingys, then seen the # on back, couldn't pay for it fast enough lol
Thanks Michael and Lucas for the loves
Evening Younging, Thanks WARWAGON64 :-)
Thanks Valentino97, always a pleasure to see you've dropped in, very appreciated!!
Kerry, you just plain knicked that one ! You didn't have to hurt the guy? LOL!
I basically stole it......paid around what it would have sold for new, 13 years later these bring a far market price for what they are, but to have 00000, I wouldn't want to price it LOL
I'm impressed, in awe & jealous !! Good show that !

Thank you very much VETRAIO50, how's the weather down under?
Thanks mikelv85 :-)
I was wondering how the first one could be 0, when it would be 1... LOL! What is that in the box with it? A kerchief? Did anyone even know who Roy Rogers was in 1993? LOL - I did, and do! My grandfather's cousin was Gene Autrey! I was adopted and only found out I was related when I was 27 or 28.
Celiene, the first "production" piece down the assembly line would be #1, this particular piece would been the "proto-type/artist proof" presented to the Company for approval. Thanks for your query, hope this explains it.
@Celiene, I should add, Fossil produced a lot of "Reto" watch with tons of Characters from days past, looking to cash in on the older generation that might have had an original when young and these were marketed towards them, a reliable newer style quartz watch that they could wear everyday and reminisce their childhood . Pretty cool to have relative such as Gene, I'll have to post a couple of his earlier timepieces
Oops ! I'm going to have to keep my "drool towel" closer to my keyboard !! LOL!
LOL Lucas, don't need wet keyboard :-)
Thank you crswerner and kyratango for the loves
Thank you Celiene for dropping in and asking a viable question that I should have placed in the description
To be honest, I'm not nearly as impressed with the watch, as I am with the collector's value, of the serial # ! I would even settle for #1 ! LOL!
Lucas, totally agree, I do have a couple other character watches that also marked as such A/P for artist proof on one and #0001 on another, I find them from time to time and instantly snatch them up...3 in 40 years of collecting...so not real readily found
# in 40 yrs. is probably a good score . Better than mine on anything . I was in the right place & time once, to buy a C.W. Smith carbine fresh out of the wooden shipping case, in absolutely mint condition ! Those days are gone.
VERY cool!!!!! Keep up the hunt!
Is that a kerchief in the box? What is in the bottom of the box?
Like you said Kerry, a repo ho hum, but the very first one???!!! Wow... great buy!!
@ Celeine, oops sorry forgot to answer :-).....Yes a a kerchief with Roygraphics, can't wear the watch unless you wear full garb...lol
