    These are WW II Auto black out lights. The red one for the back of the automobile,and the clear one is for the front. They were manufactured January 1945. I came across them while cleaning out a crawl space under a rental home. They operate off of the cars electrical system . (12 volt not 6 volt). And yes they both do still work.
    I believe that they were issued to the civilian population during WWII. To be used for driving during the night time hours. Somthing you don't come across everyday!
