We acquired this in an auction, it is a Delill green leather? clutch hand bag with gold tone metal handles. It measures approximately 7" wide x 2.5" x 5" tall (to top of bag) I cannot find anything at all that looks like it anywhere. I would think it is leather as opposed to a synthetic material. The handles are tarnished a bit, as are the bottom studs. Would this be from the 50's? Originally I thought the 60's but seems older for some reason. Could anyone help me with dating and labeling it? Is it a tote, clutch, bag, purse or hand bag? I am confused, thanks so very much!
Not 1960s - earlier.

"Delill handbags were created by a company known as Delill Creations and the trademark name was registered first on Sept 1 1941 by Desire and Lilly Rotkel---- thus the name De from Desire and Lill from Lilly combined to make Delill; in 1949 they were located at 17 Union Square in New York City; in 1955 Delill Creation bags were made "Bags by Lilly" subtitle; The last renewal of the trademark name Delill was made in 1968 and the trademark name is now dead. Those labeled made in West Germany were made after World War II when Germany was divided into East and West Sections. The company appears to have had bags made in Japan and Italy as well as Germany. Some of the "trunk bags" came from Italy. Information learned on Google's Bag Lady Site."
