I won this old print on an ebay auction the other day. i thought it reminded me of the estuary between oakland and alameda - right near my house, and then when it arrived, i became convinced that it is of here, even though it came from far away by the seller. even the colors remind me of the marina here. i've got a great old oak frame for this, and will bring it to my framer soon. i'd love to know who did this. the figures are very interesting - almost film noirish! ash can school?
Totally 'get' why you'd want this on your wall.....

thank you Virginia and Roy! i enjoyed your songs Roy!
i wish i could find out more about this piece. i really love it and have a great frame for it.
i finally found out who made this! this by a wpa artist named Max Arthur Cohn. The print is called 'Harlem River' and i think that this is an unsigned artist's proof because the colors, registration and line are better than in the other copies i found online like this one at the Smithsonian. time to get it framed! https://americanart.si.edu/artwork/harlem-river-5062?fbclid=IwAR0bqd709oYpsmvNsr2E9wPiOIWPRatZ6HVnBp7tv5DVF40jM3e_W6ZFWUA
thanks keramikos! that one is a watercolor which the print was based on.
it only took 4 years to solve!
yup. just like the one at the Smithsonian. durn!
