Last year a friend called me and said he knew where I could get a nice original pump. So I went and wow the guy was telling the truth about the pump. It was just as he said. It's all original including the hose and nozzle. It even has a porcelain pump sign. The pump is dated 1950 by Martin & Schwartz, Inc.. American Regular was the grade of gas. To the left of the pump is a porcelain sign that reads Anti-Sludge, ISO-VIS "D" Motor Oil. It also is a Standard Oil item. On the right is a five gallon oil can with the brass tag on it that reads Standard Oil Of Indiana. The can was very rough when I got it so I painted it and put a new decal on it. I just thought I would put them in the picture together since they are all Standard Oil items. Well alot of people don't like restored things so here you have it, an all original gas pump, original porcelain sign and a repainted 5 gallon oil can.
Thank you Vontrike and trukn20!
Thank you oilman514!
To restore or not to restore, it's a problem, but I contend......It belongs to ME and if I decide to restore it I will ! If the value (?) suffers or gains................thats's to be seen later.....when I'm done with it anyhow.....
Thank you Pop_abides for stopping by and your input. I welcome any and all comments. Have a great day! :-)

Thank you bahamaboy for the love and you have a great day my friend! :-)
Hi Michael,
I have known others in the past to have had one or two gas pumps and maybe a classic barber chair, along with a few nice signs thrown in for good measure, but I have never in my entire life, in all of my "comings & goings", seen a collection take on the quality and the detail and the sheer volume that you display here, Outside of a museum. Now I like a lot folks here at C.W. and have actually made some, what I would like to think, some really good friends, and "ALL" have some really cool diverse items, but I think,... scratch that. I know I'm on somewhat "solid ground" when I say, without reservation, the items you have displayed, surpass the masses. Hats off to you Michael along with a salute to a very astute collector, with an eye for quality, who maybe owns more gas pumps than I have stood in front of, my entire life. And with all the gas guzzlers I've owned down through the years, I've stood in front of quite a few gas pumps. Awesome collection "across the board". You and Kerry's Mickey Mouse watch collection are second to none in your respective category's. WOW, WOW & triple WOW! Isn't our hobby, and what all we do here, grand? I think it is.
Very respectfully, The other Kerry
I believe Kerry said it all, and I'll be in total agreement with what he said about your collection. Very impressive, love it
First I want to thank Kerry from the bottom of my heart for what he wrote. You have given me the greatest complement from anyone on my love and passion of collecting. Some people are insecure and jealous and never pay a complement, thinking that all I'm doing is showing off. But I'm on a site where I feel we all share the same love and passion of collecting. That's why you see me show so many people a love or a like on there item. I know we all don't like the same thing or if we did this site would be very boring! Thank you again my friend and just maybe someday I may get to meet you in person and shake your hand! Your friend always Michael Jones
Thank you kerry10456!
Officialfuel, Very well said. I have had some of the same experiences as you commented above. I have interests in certain area of collecting, as most collectors do, however I can and do appreciate other peoples collections. It does not matter to me as much as what they collect as knowing that individual has that much passion, spent that much time, money, ect. , for something that they enjoy and care about. Some people do not get it and never will.
Thank you StihlCollector and for the comment!!!
Thanks Michael for those kind words. All I did was express a heartfelt observation about a "kick ass" collection. And I too hope we get to meet & shake one another's hand one day. Who knows, I might talk some of you "Yankees" into coming down to Florida for a "collectors get together". As long as there is no more than 4 of us total (Coast Guard says only four occupants), we could take the boat down to our nations oldest city (Saint Augustine Fl) and do some "pickin". And if the crowd is more than 4, hell we'll drive down. It's only 30 miles south of me. If you like vintage anything, you'd love Saint A. Ya never know what the future may hold... Take care my friend.

Hey!!! Do you have any idea what this thing is worth?? We have one that is very similar and we're trying to get a price on it... We also have a huge Amoco sign with the fire ball above, any idea what that might go for?? Oh btw we used to own a Standard Oil/ Amoco fuel station..
Thanks!!
Thank you bryce bridges for stopping by and thanks for the comment! I've got a good ideal on the value.

Did you know that you have 30 of the top 48 posts of all time? Holly Cow! Your collection of things is amazing! Thank you for sharing it all with us...
Thank you toolate2 for the compliment and everyone else! I'm wondering what happen to your post to the veterans? I love seeing the flag of the USA.

Thank you lundy! Do you want that oil checked and the air in the tires? I've already washed the windshield.
I took it down as it wasn't really a collectible. I meant it as a veterans day salute so I felt maybe it's time had past. I figure the folks here have enough on their hands with all the stuff we post without having to deal with a lot of extraneous posts. I am glad I posted it though. We have a lot of vets here and they deserve all our thanks.
Well said toolate2, thanks for your response! :-)
