I am going to need some help with this one. I've researched this item for quite some time now. All of W.M. Rodgers and son flatware can be I dentified by. The paten dates. Usually Feb . 11, 1913 or Feb.13,1913 followed by W.M. Rodgers and son AA. On my butter knife, the paten date reads Feb. 28, 1915 or 18.
None of the sites have anything in that date range. Also the pattern on this knife is very intricate unlike other knives i have compaired on the hilt of the knife is a large American eagle front and back.wings spread clutching a banner with the words United States.
Below the banner the word "of" centered in the design.below that is a shield with thirteen stars with stripes running diagonally down the shield face. Below the shield the word America. On the back side a smaller shield the leters U.S
A.
Again on the shield, thirteen stars and stripes. Its a beautifully done work of art which i'm sure took some tome to do
Where as most of his other flatware was less ornate. If anyone can point me in the right direction. It would be grately appreactated.
