A nice J. Savage bottle from Fishkill Village, New York.
Apparently, Kill means Creek.
I'm not sure what he bottled as I couldn't find any information.
The stopper was patented March 6th, 1883, and it still works!
The bottle should be before 1899 as it lacks the "Registered" statement mandatory in that year into the early 1900s.
And thus we have our time-period, or at least for the stopper. Those sometimes got replaced.
A very nice addition to my collection this year. I picked it up only because of the strange names. "Savage" and "Fishkill" go so well together.
Anyone know exactly what he bottled? It has the beer's shape, but that means little.
