A kerosene lamp, originally.
"Marks on Bradley and Hubbard Lamps
This mark is found on oil font filler caps of Bradley and Hubbard's kerosene burning lamps produced during the 1880's and well into the twentieth century."

I really don't think that the chimney or that tiny shade are right for that lamp. I would try to find a photo of the actual lamp when it was kerosene to "redo" it properly. It's a nice brass lamp by B & H. RER
Loumanal, I thought the same but the lamp is very small so it works ok. Cannot find a photo of the lamp anywhere. Thank you for the info!
