I bought this bottle in an antique store a while ago, don't remember for how much. I'm a bit puzzled about it. Some signs lead me to believe it might be an old bottle, but its overall condition and quality of glass are pretty good for an early bottle. It's marked W.T.Co. on the bottom.
Whitall Tatum Company? Any time after 1901? Its possible purpose?

    Thanks for any help.

Whitall Tatum Co., circa-1901. Well-known for teal-coloured bottles, they took "&" out of their name in 1900 and off bottles in 1901. Apothecary use. They then fell into making insulators.

If it is of interest, the glass on the base slid in the mold-- hence why the marks are distorted and looked ''double-embossed.''

Thanks, Spirit! yes, the double mold mark was of interest. Is there a way to tell more precisely when the bottle was made after 1901?

It's a tooled bottle. So before 1920. I don't recall when or if W.T. Co. went only to making insulators, but you could research that. ;)

This Brookfield insulator leads most people to think that it was New York City, New York. But it wasn't. The glass slid in the mold, thus leading to it being put on twice-- and a very good example of it. LOL.
      *Has a W. T. Co. insulator outside.*
