Antique Earrings, I thought they were opals, but still don't know what kind of stone these are...help anyone?? I just love the look of these screw backs. They have NO markings, but the stones are prong set and just beautiful, almost luminous in the right light.

Those earrings really are gorgeous! To me, those look like moonstones. Could also be a type of glass. There are others here with a great deal more knowledge than I about this and I am sure they will be along soon.

Opaline glass crystal, was very used in Japan, a poster here had a set of same color necklace and bracelet, silver, marked with japanese Kanji.

Here is another example, with a butterfly in the crystal:

Hello Everyone, and thank you so very much for your help with these earrings!! I didn't mean to just disappear...I have been ill with my heart problems, doing so much better now, and getting back into the swing of things! I am just now going to check out the links you wonderful people have posted, so I can see what the other items look like...Again-thank you all so much! You have been immensely helpful.
