Hi and first off thankyou to those who have welcomed me to Collectors Weekly. This is a wonderful site that will allow anyone to showcase whatever they want to the world. "Fantastic". Thankyou to racer4four for your kind comment and request for more. Also to the other 5 Views I have noted after my first blog on this site. Anyway you asked for more."MORE", sounds like a scene out of Oliver. So anyway I will post one Jema Holland Clock each week till I exhaust my collection. I am doing this in the hope I can at least perhaps lift the "Profile" of Jema Holland in particular "Clocks" as it saddens me immensely that very few people have ever heard of the maker and also due to the fact very little was even written about Jelis Meger born 12/06/1912 and his brother Johan Willem Mager born 09/02/19 both in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Roughly soon after November 1955 It was these 2 brothers to cut the story short that founded the JEMA KERAMISCH ATELIER N.V. (Jema Ceramic Studio). The first JE standing for Jelis and the MA standing for Mager. It became a real family business. The business as best known was declared insolvent and had to close its doors on the 28th of June 1984.
Moving on so today I introduce you to Jema Holland (469) Sideboard Lion which I purchased from the Netherlands still in excellent condition and working order. Going on information I have to date it is the 2nd one only in existence that has been documented so a great find and win for me. I have it sitting close by and cant stop admiring the moulding and more so the beautiful glazing of colour they used to create this masterpiece. I pray that one day someone can shed much more light on Jema Holland but for now for me Jema Holland Clocks are more precious than gold and should be ranked beside the most well know makers like Sessions, Bradley and so on. Simply put they were way ahead of their time in the work and results they achieved so many years ago. Thankyou all once again for showing interest in Jema Holland. As promised stay tuned for another beautiful Jema Holland Clock next week, until then happy collecting, Cheers hutchy777

Love him! (A tribute to Cecil...) Anyway - it would be nice to see the marks. Who made the actual clock movement? Can we see the clock face, too? Very nice ceramics!

Another beauty. I have mainly seen Jema birds and fish so this lion is great.
You can post up to 4 photos and being the inquisitive lot we are we like to see shots of the back or bottom or sides as well.
