      For gunpowder for reenactment blunderbusses?

Guess I could use one or 2 for that !

      Question.
Someone would carry around 10-20 of these instead one large gunpowder flask?
I guessing 1 or 2 shots max for a big gun like that but
I am ignorant as to how much powder that gun would use.
      ?

I use a little over 1/4 oz. (120-140 grains) in the naval blunderbuss . The coach gun, 90-100 grs.. In days prior to flintlocks, often many wooden cyls. (and looking much like these) containing 1 charge each were hung from bandoliers . These would be much too large for that. So mystery still unsolved ! Of course, the use of aluminium makes these relatively new.

      ThX for the accurate info.
If salt has the same properties.........
It held 9.5 grams or about a shot and a 3rd-ish, if I understand it correctly.
I did fill it up to the top of the tube.

Yes, aluminum rules out a few ideas.

Your gun must be a blast (no pun intended) to shoot.

They rock you back ! Friend of mine who has a barrett .50, says both kick more.
Powder is measured in grains. I guess I mislead you with that 2nd "grs". One gram contains 15.43 grains, so there would be a lot of space left, I believe.

These could have been made for a re-enactor of pre flint guns. No problem with the container being too large since aluminium is being used. Originals were wood, horn etc. capsules with a cork/plug. As each charge is used, the plug is left to dangle to show it has been used. These could leave the cover, in this case up or over to the side of the tube. My honest opinion is, these are probably for something else.

Some game silly men, on horses, used to play to try and give their opponent a concussion. Of course they don't look long enough, so I'll have to think of something else.

Uh, Gillian, are you referring to combat ?
