From the style of the box I believe this Cigarette case is from the Art Deco period, the case and box are in such fantastic condition. I can't believe I was the only bidder on this. I think it might be Japanese, it is enamelled in a Japanese scene etched with gold. I'll let the photos do the talking, because I don't think I could do this case justice. There are marks, I shall put them on if anybody wants to see them.
Many thanks for looking.
Beautiful.
Hi Caperkid, thank you for your nice comment and love.
Most excellent!
Very nice!! Nice new profile pic too!!
Thank you Rustfarm, for passing by, unfortunately these photos don't do this case justice, to much glare, I'll post some more tomorrow, hopefully there'll be better.
Thank Scott, always a pleasure to see you, thanks for your comment on the cigarettes case. Like you I decided to have a new look for the year.
It is so beautiful Jean, and with it's own case. Suits you!!! Congratulations on the purchase, well done.
Thanks Karen, I'm pleased as punch with this, it's in excellent condition, tomorrow I'll change the photos, there are silver marks, may be some body may have some ideas.
Absolute beauty, in untouched condition, and love the decor on both sides!
What a luck to have been the only bidder :-)
Hi kyra, I must admit I was surprised I was the only bidder, may be people don't collect Japanese Cigarette cases. It is in brilliant condition, thanks for passing by and leaving your great comment. I've also put some new photos on, there is one with a hallmark and stamped silver stamp, I was wondering if anybody is familiar with the makers mark.
I was wondering if any body knows anything about Japanese silver Marks. I'm thinking this case may be Japanese, but I could be wrong.

This is a very similar cigarette case made by K. Uyeda. I can't find his silver Mark, therefore I'm not sure if he is the maker of this case
Wonderfully decorated Jean!
Thank you Rick, for your lovely comment.

I think it would be worth your while to send photographs of you case to gallery925, that you have the link for. Their case does seem just like yours. And they do say to get in touch. I'm sure they would be interested.
It's a beautiful object, the like I've never seen before.
Hi Gillian I'm sorry I missed your comment. I sent an email to the gallery and they kindly replied.
They say they don't recognize the maker, but this design was a popular piece during the 1920s. The metal technique is typical Japanese and widely used in small objects.
These cigarette cases were retailed in upscale tourist spots like K Uyeda
They responded very quickly I was very impressed.
